And the storey goes on!!!!!!!!! The buyer for our property has asked for another extension possibly until next Wednesday. The Enviromental Study Report is not complete and his bank will not release funds until they have seem the report. We are not worried that there will be a problem but apparently that is the way that the banks work with commercial properties. It is not in our hands, we trust that the Lord will provide.
Love

Three days of cleaning up at the shop, all done, keys at the Lawyer. The Lord willing the deal should close tomorrow!

Doesn't sound too stil! Between cooking and sniffeling! We are hoping that things will settle down here soon. The Lord willing our property is suppose to close on Thurs. Feb. 28th. Went to the lawyer yesterday and signed a bunch of papers.
Also we are having the Grand Opening of the Bibles for Mission Thrift store next Tuesday at 11. am. I put together an ad for the newspaper which was 2/3rds of a page. I called a lot of people to put in small ads along with ours to make one big one, that way the cost is not very much! I sent a copy to the last email address we have for you, not sure if that is the right one. We were very happy with the end result.
They are presently doing a large renovation of the sanctuary of the church, so all the benches have been moved to the hall where the kitchen is and that is where we are meeting on Sundays. They have been busy for about three weeks now and it will take at least another month, maybe more before it is finished. They are doing it all with free labour so Jack has been going each Sat. morning with the big dump trailer and they load it up and clean up as much as they can, and Jack than takes it to the dump. The rest of the day he was at the BFM store putting in some cupboards in each of the small bathrooms. They wanted that done before the grand opening.
I spent about an hour handing out flyers for Renovations this morning, with Missy. When we got back she was soaking wet because the snow is melting, so first thing was a bath. Tonight we gave her a bit of a trim, her hair gets pretty long around her eyes and than she looks real doozy. She doesn't like it very much so it takes two of us. Jack to hold her down and me to cut. Than it was Jack's turn!
So far this winter we have not had the flu or bad colds. A real blessing! However they called from Dad's Home and said they had an influenza B outbreak and they gave him a Tamiflu shot because he said he was feeling a bit nauseous. We haven't talked to him yet, we'll call him tomorrow. Monday Ena's son Dave and his family visited him, because it was a holiday, called "family day". They said he was really good and sent some pictures. Tante Janny is doing very well, I try to go over one evening a week and we play a couple of games of RummyKup. She really enjoys that. She wins more games than I do, so there is nothing wrong with her mind.
Do hope you are soon feeling better. I'm sure the onion will do the trick!

Things are happening a lot here and not all of them are good. The worst being that the closing of the sale of our property has been postponed(verlengd) due to the fact that the buyer had not done his homework. His bank required him to get an enviromental assessment. That is quite standard here with commercial property which he knew but tried to get away without doing. So the closing is February 28th. We will receive reimbursment for all of our costs but still there are quite a number of things that need to be rearranged and put on hold. Very frustrating & I am having a very hard time adjusting to it.
Also Rennie & I are extemly busy with renovations (which is good but does not allow time for other things that we would like to do)
Rennie left for Ottawa again today for three days and will be back late Thursday.
Tante Janny is doing very well and we hope and pray that it stays that way. She seems to be getting more comfortable at her home.
We visited dad on Saturday. He was down when we got there but we took him to Swiss Chaet for supper and a small drive afterwards which perked him up. I feel quite guilty that we cannot visit him oftener but we're just running out of time. He does get a lot of visits from his fellow church members. He has not been able to go to church for a few months and this bothers him a lot. He did have a bad chest (lung) infection for about six weeks but this seems to be gone. He is also getting weaker in his legs because he does not use them but there's nothing that we can do about that. He spends his whole day in the wheel chair.
Well that's all for now.
Jack

Last week I also spent two days cleaning the old house, while Jack was working on the garage. It's a good thing the property doesn't close until the end of the year. Chad and his guys have been busy in the evenings building a 2nd floor in the new unit that the business is renting and also making a large office. It has a small area for a bit of a showroom. Jack spent one day there putting in the electrical and phone wiring.
Yesterday we started back to work, trying to figure out where we left off and I spent today at the BFM store. It has really turned out very nice, very big and bright. Today we had the highest sales yet $1,339.00 and we haven't done any advertising yet. We hope to have a grand opening either in late Feb. or March. We will be having a bit of a display in the Home Show Jan. 25th and 26th. letting people know we are open and when the grand opening will be.
I'll leave you with that, should give you something to think about for awhile. Hopefully I will soon find time to take some pictures and put them on the site.
Toodles

For Christmas we had Tante Janny over for lunch, and I baked a duck in the slowcooker which we all decided we liked better than both turkey or chicken. Dad came down with a chest infection so was not able to come over. On the day after Christmas we still had a bit of family reunion in the church at Chatham, total of 28. We all took turns visiting dad, which made him very happy. On the way home we got stuck in a snow storm, so Art & Lisa, Chad & Erin and their families, and us drove home in convoy and took 2 1/2 hrs to get home. For new years eve we had Pete and Hettie Engbers over after church, and had a nice visit. New Year day in the afternoon we went to my sister Janice's, in Waterdown, just north of Hamilton. It was a nice day for a drive and visited with them, my sister Attie & Henry, and three of their boys. My brother John was sick but his wife Jenny came with four of their children with their families and also one daughter from my sister Marcia in Mannitoba, who is working in Hamilton and also a daughter & husband and three small children from my sister Theresa, dropped in. His parents live in Ontario but his mother is French and they were on there way to France. He is a Royal Canadian Mounted Police and their baby is just 4 months and he was able to get six months paternity leave of which they are spending 3 in France. So it was really nice to see them all.

Sorry, I've been a little out of it! The house is about as ready as it can be for now. I painted two bedrooms and Jack made an office in the basement and than I painted it also. Jack put new flooring in three bedrooms and the office. We need new doors on the bedrooms and Jack still needs to trim the doorway to the office but he needs to finish insulating the garage which he is making into a workshop. When he is finished with the walls he needs to move his workbench out of the house and also all of his tools. Also the garden shed and patio furniture and garden tools still need to be moved. My coffee table and end tables didn't fit so they went to BFM store along with over half of what we had in the house because it is only 1/3rd the size of our old house. We order a new coffee table but one of the screws would not tighten up so it has to go back, which made Jack very frustrated.
