Spent the night with Tante Janny in the hospital again. She called at around 8 PM and was all upset, someone had stolen a lot of her things. I went right over and by that time she realized that it wasn't so. " It's all in my head, I feel awful, I don't know what to do, I'm afraid to be by myself". She was terribly shaky but her blood pressure and pulse were normal. They finally diagnosed her sometime after 4 am with depression. Now a lot of things make sense. It may even be the cause of her atrial fibrulation. Now I'm waiting for the specialist to call back, and if he doesn't do I get a hold of her own doctor? What to do? I really want her to get started on something before tonight as I don't want a repeat.

Happy to hear that Arjen and Lianne have found another place, is it closer to his work and can Lianne still work part time at the same hair salon?
Just talked to tante Janny, she says that the pain in her hip seems to be getting some what better, but when I offered to take her to church on Sunday in her wheelchair she thought that she had better wait a bit longer.
Jack is doing very well and I am still up and down depending on how much I do. I am chairing the committee for volunteers for Bible's for Mission and Jack is the project manager for the renovations of the building. We had to apply for a zoning change at city hall and if all goes well we should have the building by May 1. We have a meeting at city hall at about 4.30 on Feb. 27th and once that is finished the Lord willing, we plan to leave for Florida until Mar. 17th. Lisa said she will take Tante Janny to the one Drs. appointment she has and will keep an eye on her. So we hope everything goes well!

Thanks voor de berichten over de familie.
Ik wist er al veel van want ik heb met tante Janny gebeld deze week.
Ze klonk vrij goed, moest soms wel naar woorden zoeken of verbeterde zichzelf.
Maar ze wist over veel dingen gewoon te praten. We hebben meer dan een half uur fijn gepraat.
Alles goed met jullie?
Vandaag is de garage afgebroken. Ik weet nog niet wanneer ze de nieuwe komen plaatsen.
Morgen komt eerst de 'hypotheekman' praten. Met onze eigen adviseur erbij.
Dan hebben we dat ook maar weer gehad.
En dan hebben we het druk met de verhuizing van Arjen en Lianne.
Die krijgen maandag de sleutel. Maar ze krijgen wel weer een mooi plekje in Smilde.
En nog net op tijd voor de baby komt! Als alles goed is natuurlijk.

Last week I took Tante Janny to have a monitor put on for 48 hrs. After the first night I called her and she said she slept fine, she'd had one before! , than at 7.15 am Sat. morn. she calls me all upset, she needs it removed, she didn't sleep all night. I told her that she said it was no problem the night before, and she says, "dat seg ik dan" I convinced her to leave it on until three and than came up and removed it. The nurses said they would but than it probably wouldn't be until much later and than she would be upset again. I told her that we weren't going to Holland but were trying to convince you to come here. She said that would be really nice! Albert and Melanie visited her on Monday. They asked her how Kina was doing and she told them that she had died two weeks ago. She than went on to explain how she had the tumors in her brain and as she talked she realized that it was Willie Grootjen and not Kina, and corrected herself.

We had a great visit with Dad yesterday and joined him for supper. The meals are great and cheap so Dad can still pay for us [$7. - $8]. He really seems to be his old self again. To go to the lunch room which is quit a long way from his room, he takes his walker and goes to the scooter, folds up the walker and puts it in the basket and takes the scooter to the lunch room. He decided to have the final operation after all as he is unable to walk and that really bothers him. We don't have an exact date yet but it will be near the beginning of April.

Piet Paulusma is er nog niet zeker van.
Maar het vriest behoorlijk. Dus..... nog even afwachten.
Nederlands kampioenschapis wel gereden vandaag bij Emmen en gisteren al de Ronde van Duurswold (dat is bij/op het Schildmeer, Steendam)
Maar de 11-steden gekte is volledig.
Radio, TV en kranten hebben er nu al een dagtaak aan.

Jack has told me that I have to give you the bad news! We discussed this for some time last night and decided that it would be best at this point not to go to Holland. With Tante Janny and dad both having such fragile life and never knowing what is going to happen next it is just not too responsible to go. The biggest problem is that we need to book these flights ahead of time and now they only pay cancellation on death of immediate family and if something happens when we are gone than it is very expensive to fly home immediately. This is very disappointing for us as we were getting very excited about going and also seeing Lianne's latest and of course everyone else. We may go south for a couple of weeks if they both become more stable, but we can take this one day at a time and we can drive home in 24 hrs if it should become necessary.
Why don't you come over here, maybe in June or July? You'll be able to see where Tante Janny and Dad live and she can show you the beautiful gardens. We would love to see you and I'm sure our coffee tastes just as good!

After calling and talking with the nurse at the home we found out that after breakfast she was going back to her room with two other ladies and outside her room she began to fell unwell. Then she became "unresponsive" so we're not sure if she fainted but the ladies held her up and called the nurse who called an ambulance. Rennie stayed with her untill 21:00 when the doctors said she could go home because they could not find anything. They had taken x-rays of her lower area because she was complaining of pain (probably due to her fall last week) and found that she has a minir fracture in her hip. So she had reason for the pain. She complains about having a difficult time getting going in the morning so Rennie arranged for her to have her breakfast in her room from now on. Hopefully that will make this easier.
Thats the latest for now. I have to go because they are bringing dad into London for a check up ( controle) and should also call Kose Pastoor to let her know whats has happened. I called her yesterday because it was tante Janny's turn to call her and of course she had not be able to do that.

Yesterday at lunch time we received a call from tante Janny's friend, Did we know where she was? She was not getting an answer on her phone. I had been to tante Janny's in the morning to drop something off and she was not in her room I looked for her but could not find her. Rennie called the home and they told her, Didn't you get our message , we sent her to the hospital by ambulance.
We quickly went to the hospital and found her in the emergency department. Tnate Janny was all confused. She thought she was in the hospital because she had a doctors appointment. She did remeber getting up that morning and making her bed but nothing after that until she was in the ambulance. She did not even think she had any breakfast.

The weather here is crazy too. Yesterday 10 - 12 cm of snow. Morew snow today. Tomorrow it will be 8°C with rain for the next two days.
We went to Tante Janny last night. She fell again last week. We received a call from the nurse at the home. Sunday she was too sore to go too church. Now she wants us to investigae her going to a christian home. Shialom near Smithville. I'm not sure if it is possible but we will look into it. We just finished the Home Show again this past weekend. I was not allowed to work the show but Rennie worked on Friday and Saturday. I seemed to be not too bad. The traffic was OK but we have seen it better. I guess it does not matter on the amount of traffic but on the type of clients. We'll just have to see how it turned out. I did go and have a peak on Saturday.
